Pull Stud
Gem Pull studs are shot peened to relieve stress in the material, remove burrs, radius corners, and improve the finish of the knob. This process improves the durability, extends the life and reduces the likelihood of the pull stud cracking. Improper choice of a pull stud can cause damage to your machine spindle, the tool holder, and can cause a serious safety hazard.

- Our pull studs are manufactured with the best steel that ensures minimum wear and guarantees a tough inner core that resists the normal wear and tear caused by a CNC machine
- Most often, a retention knob is added at the tail of the taper, where it can be clamped by levers from the outside and drawn axially into the spindle nose
- Great for run out accuracy, balance repeatability and machine tool draw bar consistency
- Higher-quality retention knobs will resist wear and deformation better, and they will also locate more accurately on the toolholder's center line
- Another common option is a threaded bolt built in as part of the spindle that can be activated to screw or unscrew the toolholder
